Kesari Movie Story:

Kesari is based on the true story of the Battle of Saragarhi – one of the bravest battles ever fought. It tells the tale of 21 soldiers of the 36th Sikh Regiment of the British Indian Army who fought against 10,000 Afghani Pashtun tribesmen on 12th September 1897. Led by Havildar Ishar Singh, the soldiers fight off wave after wave of the Afghan warriors.

The movie stars Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra in lead roles. This is the first time these two actors will share screen space.

Directed by Anurag Singh, this period drama is produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, Sunir Kheterpa and Apurva Mehta. The screenplay has been written by Girish Kohli and Anurag Singh.

After months of waiting, the much-awaited trailer of Kesari was released on 21st February, exactly a month before the movie release. The three-minute trailer gives a glimpse into the epic battle of Saragarhi. It speaks volumes about the bravery and valor of 21 Sikh soldiers.

Kesari First Look

The first glimpse of the Kesari opens with the sound of beating drums and trumpets. An army of soldiers is shown running with ferocious looks on their faces and swords in their hands. As the drumbeats intensify, a man’s hand can be seen holding a sword and thousands of fighters are seen gathering inside a fort.

In the second glimpse, a man set on fire is seen walking towards the Afghan army. As he stands in front of them, he raises a clenched fist hand in victory.

The final glimpse shows 21 Sikhs standing at guard on the walls of the fort. The Afghani Army can be seen running towards the fort. With a gun in his hand and a determined look on his face, Havildar Ishar Singh aka Akshay Kumar commands his battalion to fire.
