  1. The plot of the movie was conceptualised by Yash Johar 15 years ago.
  2. Sridevi was originally slated to star in the film. However, after her untimely demise, Madhuri Dixit Nene stepped into her shoes.
  3. It was Sridevi’s daughter, Jhanvi Kapoor, who broke the news on Twitter that Madhuri Dixit Nene has replaced her late mother in the movie and thanked the actress for taking up the role which was offered to her mother.
  4. Anil Kapoor was considered was the role of Balraj Chaudhary after Sanjay Dutt almost opted out of the film.
  5. Part of the story is set in Old Delhi for which a whopping Rs. 15 crores was created in Mumbai’s Film City.
  6. The movie will bring together Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt onscreen after 22 years since the release of Mahaanta in 1997. Though they are not paired opposite each other, there will be scenes in the movie where they will be seen sharing screen space.

The much-awaited first-look of the Men of Kalank was revealed on 7th March on social media.

Varun Dhawan as Zafar

The first poster revealed Varun Dhawan’s character, Zafar. Flaunting long dreadlocks, intense and kohl-rimmed eyes, Varun Dhawan leaves us spellbound with his never seen before avatar.

“It’s been a hell of a journey playing this gem of a character. So, guys, meet Zafar,” Varun wrote on his Twitter handle.

Alia Bhatt too took to Twitter to unveil the poster, captioning it as, “Fearless in love. Fearless for love. Super happy to present Zafar!”

Sonakshi Sinha’s post came with the description, “The flamboyant hero of our larger-than-life world. Presenting Zafar!”

The producer of the film, Karan Johar described him as someone who ‘flirts with life and danger!’

Presenting the first Madhuri Dixit Nene wrote, “Our world is grand and our hero is brave. Proud to present Zafar!”

Aditya Roy Kapur As Dev Chaudhary

The second look to be revealed was that of Aditya Roy Kapur who plays the character of Dev in the movie. Burning cars and buildings can be seen in the background with Dev holding what looks like a sword in his hand.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the first looks of the Women of Kalank were revealed.

Alia Bhatt As Roop

Alia Bhatt plays the role of Roop in the movie. Her first look oozes elegance & grandeur and she looks nothing less than royalty. Shy and coy, Roop is seen dressed as a bride in red and traditional jewelry.  

Describing her role, Varun Dhawan tweeted, ‘Bold. Courageous. Strong-willed.’

Madhuri Dixit Nene introduced her as someone who’s, ‘Full of life and has a heart of gold.’

Captioning his tweet as ‘To love her is to love fire,’ Karan Johar presented her as someone who has been through a lot of pain in life.

Sonakshi Sinha As Satya Chaudhary

The second look revealed was that of Sonakshi Sinha who plays the role of Satya. She is cast opposite Aditya Roy Kapur in the movie and is depicted as someone who, in a chaotic world, she holds the fort with her grace. In Sonakshi Sinha’s own words, Satya stands for, ‘Love, longing, integrity, and sacrifice.’
