There is something for everyone here. We list tops on How to Declutter Your Clothes Closet to make sure you can find what you are looking for without going through all the hassle.

Here is How to Declutter Your Clothes Closet.

Customize According to Season

Simply rotating your clothes which are out of season can help you remove so much unnecessary items from your closet. You are not going to wear winter clothes in the summer anyway, just take them out and store them somewhere else. During winters, simply rotate out clothes for summer time and add back your sweaters and scarfs to your closet. Simple yet effective.

Re-Purpose Old Clothes

If you have a lot of old clothes lying around, you can do a lot with them. The best course is to donate them to people in need. If you have an emotional connection to that unwearable, old T shirt and don’t want to give it away, you can simply make it into your new dusting cloth. I do that with all my T shirts. You can do so much with old clothes it can be a blog on its own.

Make Things Visible

Just keeping things in order, in place for you to see and pick up when needed is going to make a huge difference and save a tonne of your time. A cluttered closet is the worst when you are in a hurry and need something good to wear. Take some time during the weekends to clean and clear out your closet before that work catastrophe hits you.

Store Occasion Wear Separately

When it comes to special suits and dresses you’d want to wear on an occasion, do not store them with your usual clothes. In the pile they might wrinkle and might need hours to fix them up and ready to wear. It is best to make a separate section for all your special clothes. Use a hanger to keep them safe and wrinkle free. This also helps in reducing clutter as not all your clothes are now mixed up.

Stop Hoarding

We know we know, it is difficult to overlook that great jacket or jeans that is on sale. But before you go on a shopping spree, ask yourself once, do you really need it? Say you already have a blue pair of jeans, but there is one on sale. Do some calculating as to how much more that other pair of jeans will last you, do you need another one of the same, and if you do, what are you going to do to your old pair. This not only saves you money, but also declutters your closet in the process.
